DISPLAY GARDEN TOURS

Self-Guided Tours

  • Free – no charge
  • A printed map of the display gardens is provided
  • Can be taken anytime during store business hours


Guided Tour

  • $150 for an approximately 1-hour tour of the grounds
  • Up to 40 persons can be accommodated
  • A date and time must be reserved in advance
  • A seasoned staff member will lead the tour and questions are welcomed
  • Discussions include a history of the farm, plant profiles, and design tips
  • A printed map of the display gardens and one free catalog per person are provided
  • Restrooms and charging station for electric vehicles are available
  • Remember to allow time to shop for plants and gifts


The display gardens at White Flower Farm are located within the lawn areas of the farm up a small hill from the store. While some bluestone paths and paved areas exist, please be prepared to walk on grass areas that may be uneven in spots. Wear comfortable shoes that might get wet and appropriate clothing for the season, i.e. layers in early spring and sun protection in later months.

General Help

Our friendly, knowledgeable Garden Advisors are always available to assist you with plant selections and to answer your gardening questions. They will offer suggestions and design tips, and help solve plant problems all within the context of walking around our retail sales area. This is a free service and is an informal way to help you make the most of your visit to White Flower Farm. During busy periods of the spring season, the amount of time an employee can spend with a customer individually will vary with the number of customers who require assistance. If you need a more detailed and personalized consultation about a particular garden project, please make an appointment. See description below.

Garden Consult

A garden consult is a one-on-one meeting with a Garden Advisor/horticulturalist. It must take place at the Store at White Flower Farm. We do not offer off-site consultations. The fee for an approximately 1-hour consultation is $150. This is refundable with a purchase totaling $500 or more at the White Flower Farm Store anytime within the season. The garden consult includes a detailed discussion of the customer’s garden/landscape project, a review of photographs, drawings, dimensions, and site details provided by the customer. We provide a personally guided walk among our plant inventory offerings and display gardens, and a detailed list of suggested plants for the project. An informal layout of the garden may be offered as well but we do not provide detailed landscape drawings or landscape architectural plans.

The customer should arrive for the consult with the following information at hand:

  • Measurements of the area / Detailed sun & shade analysis of the site / Soil conditions / Deer or pest problems / Physical considerations that might impact the garden such as nearby trees or structures, poor site drainage, and paved areas
  • How the site is to be used or how the garden is to be enjoyed / Favorite season of interest / Goals of the completed project, i.e. providing screening, attracting pollinators, creating curb appeal, incorporating native plants, creating a cutting garden, making a space for outdoor meditation or fostering a meditative mood
  • Color preferences / Plant preferences, i.e. favorite perennials, shrubs, Roses, or other specific plants that are important and should be incorporated / Evergreen considerations / Colors or plants to avoid
  • Budget and timing of the project

 

While White Flower Farm would appreciate supplying the plant material for your home garden project, we do not offer planting or installation services. We do, however, provide a delivery service at a rate based on your zip code within the state.

DELIVERY SERVICE

The White Flower Farm Store provides delivery of plant purchases made at our store in Morris, CT, for a fee based on your zip code within the state of CT. The fees range from $35 to $250 for all the plant material that can fit in a cargo van. It does not include any mail-order plant purchases.

Deliveries are made on Tuesdays & Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. At the time the plants are purchased, we will provide an estimated day and time of delivery. On the day of delivery, we will call prior to leaving the nursery to confirm our arrival. No one needs to be home to receive the plants. Please note: No exact days and times of delivery are guaranteed as unforeseen circumstances do occasionally arise.

Delivery prices are based on off-loading plants in a driveway, not moving them elsewhere on a property unless special arrangements and fees were agreed to at the time of purchase. Our deliveries are generally made by one employee. Any heavy plant or outdoor ornament requiring the assistance of a second employee results in an additional $60 fee. All delivery fees must be paid in advance at the time of purchase.
